Taylor M. Norton practices primarily in the areas of intellectual property, construction, real estate, and business organization.  Taylor is a registered patent attorney and an engineer, and he is involved in the prosecution and protection of patents and trademarks for clients, and handles a variety of matters pertaining to trade secrets, licensing and franchising.  His practice involves construction litigation, as well as commercial and business transactions, including contract drafting and the formation, purchase and sale of limited liability companies.  Taylor largely serves onshore and offshore energy and marine contractors, designers and shipyard clients, and has experience with disputes and transactions arising from both large and small design and construction projects.

Taylor's construction experience includes arbitration and litigation of delay, disruption and acceleration claims, warranty claims, design changes, change order disputes, construction defect claims, and breach of contract claims. He has also handled claims regarding contractor licensing, mold remediation and unfair and deceptive trade practices. Taylor’s experience includes preparing and reviewing vessel construction contracts for the marine industry, focusing on the protection of proprietary data rights and intellectual property, and dealing with contracts in the real estate and construction industry.

Additionally, Taylor has experience in research and development tax credit disputes regarding innovative design and construction in the marine industry.A
